Vermella

The Team

Vermella – Lyndhurst, NJ
Architect: Frank V. Jakus, Carlstadt, NJ
Developer: Russo Development

The Background

Vermella Lyndhurst is a community development located in the heart of Bergen County, New Jersey, located less than a half-mile from a rail station, close to major area highways. The community consists of a residential clubhouse and four residential buildings housing two hundred and ninety-six – one, two, and three-bedroom apartment homes. With resort-like amenities, well-manicured exteriors, and meticulously detailed and spacious interiors, Vermella Lyndhurst required a cohesive look for all amenities and residential areas.

The Challenge

Lyndhurst is situated perfectly for commuters in North Jersey. It offers easy access to Rte 3, Rte 17, the GSP and NJ TPK, and NJT. The problem is it lacks new fresh housing choices. Vermella would be the first property to offer high-end apartment living in the community and the Vermella Property brand’s cornerstone for Russo Development. The project included the following challenges:

  • DSS was contracted to develop a complete interior and exterior package that promoted the Vermella brand image/ideal and created a harmonious community feel across the property and within the town.
  • This project would establish the basis of design for future Vermella properties.

The Solution

Russo Development commissioned DSS to create a complete interior and exterior signage package ranging from property and building IDs and community wayfinding signage to club rules and ADA/IBC code required signage for egress and unit identification. The package included a sign family, message schedule, and corresponding location plan.
After architectural and owner approval on the sign package, DSS successfully bid fabrication and installation of the project.
